There are currently six adult foxes, five females and a male, all related to a grandmother who is no longer with us. Of these foxes, one is now the aunt of four others. Confused? We are too...
One of these younger ones one had six cubs in the spring of 2024, of whom three have survived into autumn 2025 and are doing very well.
While the foxes tend to be shy of the general public there is usually one or two in each generation who prefer snacks over stealth; this year we have Pixie and Ant (or Dec). The neighbours also feed them chicken most days so the local bird population are happy.

A typical 24 hours behind the scenes at the Secret Garden. The sculptures act as an intriguing backdrop to the comings and goings of the fox family here. Look away if you're squeamish as there is a frame where a seagull is caught (but luckily not in focus). It is a reminder that nature is indeed "red in tooth and claw". On the plus side, there is a frame were a fat wood pigeon trots past unmolested.
