Terence Coglin

"I began letter carving in stone at the age of 70 as a student of Helen Mary Skelton at Skelton Workshops, where I still attend weekly classes with my (more talented) granddaughter Ella. In the dozen years that have since passed, I have cut a number of pieces, mostly in Portland stone and Welsh slate, mainly headstones and signs of various sorts. When not cutting 'to order' I enjoy breaking away from traditional Roman-based letters and experimenting with less conventional forms, including raised letters and some derived from graffiti."
