"I am showing two groups of work: Conversation and three sculptures from my Crush series. Both groups question the crafted object.
Conversation is loosely based on Manet's Le Dejeuner sur l'herbe, in which three figures picnic incongruously on grass. My figures are made from three lengths of standard hollow-section stainless steel. Each one's form has been disrupted by a humorous intervention in which the steel is either bent or squashed. The highly reflective and mercurial surface plays with the viewer's perception of the form as the sculptures reflect their immediate environment."

"The Crush series questions material hierarchies by creating a cartoon-like event in which a steel girder lands on a piece of polished stainless steel, forcing it to collapse. Referencing the 60's sculptures of Anthony Caro, these playful pieces sit somewhere between finish and failure."
